Low Temperature Telemetry
12 February 2008Thanks to some clever electronics Powelectrics have proven their Metron units work well even at low temperatures. Batteries become less efficient at low temperatures, but a decent amount of current is needed in order to communicate over the GSM mobile phone network.
The Metron has worked 100% reliably at -22 degrees C (yes, minus 22 degrees C) during a test which accelrated the device for over 2 years operation. The Metron is still going strong down at this temperature and it's expected it will last another 'couple of years' or so.
