Battery Powered Wireless Telemetry Power Curve
13 July 2007The Metron Battery Powered Wireless Telemetry device has a batery life typically of 5 years. With a low power processor running efficiently the relevant components within the system can be 'woken up' as and when required. The graph shows the current consumption when the unit wakes up the modem and sends a text message.

Initially the Metron is asleep and drawing 0.04mA. Then the unit is woken up by the pressing of a button and the current consumption increases. This is followed by the charging sequence for the modem, then modem runs for a while and finally back to the menu and then back to sleep again.
