An Alarm describes an urgent message or communication used to bring a condition to the attention of an operator, for example in vendor managed inventory an Alarm condition could be that 'the tank level is low, you need to arrange for the tank to be filled'.
A warning of an event of enough importance to require some action. This event therefore requires urgent communication, the alarm message.
